Photo Tour Winter Wonderland in Yellowstone
Available for individual booking
Yellowstone National Park, nestled in the Rocky Mountains, is considered one of the best places in North America for wildlife and landscape photography.
When the splendor of autumn colors fades and the first snow of winter dusts the mountain peaks white, Yellowstone transforms into a classic winter wonderland.
In this winter landscape of steaming geysers, trees adorned with ice, waterfalls, and snow-covered meadows, we embark on a search for the numerous wildlife of Yellowstone. With our own vehicles and privately chartered snowmobiles, we have the best photographic opportunities. With a bit of luck, we may even spot wild wolves.
Additionally, we will visit the nearby Grand Teton National Park to the south, known for its jagged mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. A private tour to the National Elk Refuge near the picturesque town of Jackson Hole is also planned.

Day 1
Arrival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Transfer to the motel.
Day 2 &3
Full-day photography in the Grand Teton National Park. We wake up early to photograph the sunrise over the Grand Teton mountain range, for this purpose we will visit various locations. Afterward, we will search for other wildlife such as moose, bison, elk, coyotes, bald eagles, and, of course, for beautiful winter landscapes. During one of the afternoons, we have a private tour of the «Elk Refuge» (Wapiti Reserve), where there are excellent opportunities to photograph these majestic elk up close.
Day 4
On our last morning in Grand Teton, we will photograph the sunrise once more. After that, we drive toward Yellowstone National Park. Depending on our arrival time, we may take a short orientation drive near the park entrance.
Day 5 & 6
We will photograph the sunrise at the Mammoth Hot Springs (terraces and hot springs) at the northern park entrance.
In winter, Yellowstone can only be accessed by car via one route – and what a route it is! The route goes from Mammoth Hot Springs across the Lamar Valley, one of the most beautiful parts of Yellowstone. Lamar Valley is also known for its wolves. During the day, we have a good chance of encountering various wildlife in this area. The landscape of Lamar Valley also offers plenty of photographic opportunities.
Day 7
Today we begin our private tour with local guides and head deep into Yellowstone. Since no cars are allowed here, we will use «snowscooters» (snowmobiles). A wonderful experience! Along the way, we will visit Hayden Valley and the Roaring Mountains. It will be a varied and very productive tour.
Day 8
The second day of our private tour. We have an early breakfast and head out with our «snowcoaches.» We will head toward the Madison River to look for bald eagles and trumpeter swans. Occasionally, we may also spot shovelers, river otters, coyotes, and possibly even lynx to photograph.
Day 9
In the morning, we will have the opportunity to explore the famous geyser area around Old Faithful. The various geysers, with their sometimes colorful hot springs, offer a variety of shapes and structures. This creates endless photographic opportunities. There will also be a chance to encounter wildlife in this area, as they are often found near geysers and springs. In the afternoon, we will drive back to Gardiner.
Day 10 & 11
As on Day 5 and 6, we will drive toward Lamar Valley, stopping at various photographic locations along the way.
Day 12
In the early morning, we will have one more opportunity to photograph in Lamar Valley. Later in the day, we will drive to Bozeman.
Day 13
After breakfast, we will head to the airport and begin our journey back.
Day 14
Flight back.
Looking forward to an incredible journey!
