Finland Wolves Photo Tour
Available for individual booking

Southeast Finland is considered the mecca of wolf photography in Europe. When the snow has melted in mid-May and the sun, which is long on the horizon, covers the landscape in warm colors, there is an exciting time for wolf photographers.

The photo trip to Kuhmo offers animal photographers the opportunity to meet wolves, wolverines, bears, eagles and possibly even lynxes up close over five days. In huts near the Russian border, we wait for the animals to arrive in the late afternoon . Since there is almost 24 hours of daylight in May in Finland, the animals can arrive in our forest clearing at any time. It is always important to be on guard and have the camera ready to shoot. We spend the whole night in the observation huts and only return to our hotel in the morning. After breakfast we first catch up on our night’s sleep and then set off again in the late afternoon for a photo stalk.

My Finnish partner has various hideaways in Kuhmo and Joensuu. Which huts and in what order we will visit cannot be determined until the beginning of May. This depends very much on the weather and the animals› areas of movement. A precise travel plan is therefore only available shortly before the trip.
